Dua After Duha Prayer: The Blessings of the Mid-Morning Supplication

Duha prayer is a special voluntary prayer performed in the morning after sunrise until just before the time for Dhuhr. It is a highly recommended act of worship that carries immense rewards and spiritual benefits. After completing the Duha prayer, it is encouraged to recite supplications (duas) seeking Allah’s blessings, guidance, and sustenance.

The Importance of Duha Prayer

Duha prayer is often referred to as the "Prayer of the Forenoon" and is associated with seeking Allah’s provision. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) mentioned in a hadith:

"In the morning, charity is due on every joint of the body of every one of you. Every utterance of Allah’s glorification is an act of charity. Every utterance of His praise is an act of charity. Every utterance of His profession of His Oneness is an act of charity. Every utterance of His profession of His Greatness is an act of charity. Commanding good is an act of charity. Forbidding what is disreputable is an act of charity. Two rak’ahs which one prays in the forenoon will suffice."
(Sahih Muslim, 720)

This hadith highlights the significance of Duha prayer as a form of gratitude to Allah for the blessings He has bestowed upon us.

Dua After Duha Prayer

After completing Duha prayer, it is recommended to recite the following supplication:

Transliteration:
"Allahumma innad-duha duha’uka, wal bahaa’u baha’uka, wal jamaala jamaaluka, wal quwwata quwwatuka, wal qudrata qudratuka, wal ‘ismata ‘ismatuka. Allahumma in kaana rizqi fis-samaa’i fa’anzilhu, wa in kaana fil-ardhi fa-akhrijhu, wa in kaana mu’assiran fa-yassirhu, wa in kaana haraman fa-tahhirhu, wa in kaana ba’idan fa-qarribhu, bihaqqi duha’ika, wa baha’ika, wa jamaalika, wa quwwatika, wa qudratika, aatini ma atayta ‘ibaadikas-saliheen."

Translation:
"O Allah, surely the morning is Yours, the beauty is Yours, the majesty is Yours, the strength is Yours, the power is Yours, and the protection is Yours. O Allah, if my sustenance is in the heavens, bring it down; if it is in the earth, bring it out; if it is difficult, make it easy; if it is unlawful, purify it; if it is distant, bring it near. By the truth of Your morning, Your majesty, Your beauty, Your strength, and Your power, grant me what You have granted Your righteous servants."

This dua asks Allah for provision (rizq), purification, ease, and blessings in one's life. Many scholars have recommended reciting this dua regularly, especially after Duha prayer, as it is a way of seeking sustenance and divine assistance.
